Static-Dissipative Epoxy Flooring
- Controlled 10⁶–10⁹ Ω Range
- Low Body-Voltage Design
- Humidity-Stable Static Control
- Smooth Non-Porous Finish
Product Introduction
Static-dissipative epoxy flooring manages electrostatic charge within a controlled resistance band rather than providing the lowest possible path to earth. This controlled discharge is suited to electronics production, semiconductor handling and instrument rooms where sudden ESD events can damage components. Conductive additives extend through the epoxy thickness, while a compatible primer and grounding arrangement complete the electrical circuit. Final performance is evaluated as a floor-footwear-person system because footwear, humidity, cleanliness and test equipment all influence measured resistance and body voltage.
Key Features
Through-thickness conductive components retain static-control function as the top surface experiences normal wear.
A smooth non-porous finish supports particle control and repeated cleaning around sensitive assembly operations.
Compatible ESD footwear can be integrated with the floor to limit charge generated by walking personnel.
Customer Product Concerns
An ESD floor is only effective when resistance, body voltage, footwear and grounding work together under the actual room conditions.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
Representative values for a self-smoothing static-dissipative epoxy floor in an ESD-controlled room are shown below.
| Core Material | Pigmented epoxy resin with uniformly dispersed static-dissipative additives and fine filler |
|---|---|
| Panel Thickness | 1.5–3.0 mm nominal ESD wearing system thickness |
| Effective Width | Typically 1800–3600 mm controlled application lane width |
| Maximum Length | Typically up to 14000 mm continuous ESD field between active joints |
| Steel Facing Thickness | 0 mm; static dissipation is achieved within the resin system |
| Core Density | Approximately 1450–1600 kg/m³ for mixed ESD epoxy |
| Thermal Conductivity | Typically 0.28–0.42 W/(m·K) for the cured static-dissipative layer |
| Surface Finish | Smooth high-gloss or satin, non-porous pigmented ESD finish |
| Joint Type | Seamless grounded ESD build-up with controlled floor resistance of 1 × 10⁶–1 × 10⁹ Ω |
| Customization | Available based on the intended application and operating environment. |
