Product Introduction

An open RABS surrounds the critical filling or handling zone with rigid transparent panels and glove-access doors while remaining dependent on the background cleanroom. Filtered unidirectional air protects open product locations, and operators perform routine interventions through fixed gloves instead of opening the barrier. The enclosure is not gas-tight and does not use a sealed pressure shell; planned door openings, setup and cleaning follow the surrounding cleanroom procedure.

Key Features

Rigid glazed panels reduce direct operator contact with the critical line.

Glove ports support planned interventions without opening access doors.

HEPA-filtered downflow maintains first air over open containers and closures.

Hinged barrier doors provide controlled setup and maintenance access.

The modular frame integrates around existing filling equipment and conveyors.

Customer Product Concerns

An open RABS reduces operator intervention but still relies on the surrounding cleanroom and disciplined door-opening control.

Operators reach directly over open sterile containers.Glove ports position routine interventions outside the open product path.
Barrier panels obstruct machine controls and jam points.Door, glove and control locations are mapped to actual intervention positions.
Users treat an open RABS like a sealed isolator. The open-system dependency on the background cleanroom is stated in operation and layout guidance.
Panel joints create ledges beside the conveyor.Flush framed glazing and sealed lower skirts reduce exposed horizontal edges.
