Product Introduction

The bubble-tight isolation damper uses one rigid rectangular butterfly blade inside a heavy flanged channel frame. When the actuator rotates the blade to closed, a continuous silicone seal is compressed against the seat around the complete perimeter. The drive axle passes through a double-gland stuffing box, and outboard bearings keep the blade aligned without placing the bearing races in the air path. Stainless-steel construction and compatible coatings allow the assembly to serve isolation, wash-down and decontamination boundaries.

Key Features

A single rigid blade provides an uninterrupted sealing face without intermediate multiblade joints.

The perimeter seal is mechanically fastened to the blade so it can be inspected and replaced without welding.

Double-gland axle packing restricts leakage around the rotating shaft where it exits the pressure boundary.

External relubricable bearings carry radial load while remaining accessible outside contaminated airflow.

Customer Product Concerns

Bubble-tight service demands uniform perimeter compression, controlled shaft leakage and a frame stiff enough to remain square under differential pressure.

A multiblade damper leaves several blade-to-blade leakage paths at a critical boundary. One solid butterfly blade closes against a continuous seat with no intermediate blade joints.
The axle penetration leaks even though the blade perimeter is fully seated.A double-gland stuffing box seals around the rotating shaft outside the primary blade seal.
High differential pressure deflects a light frame and unloads part of the gasket.Heavy channel construction and a reinforced backing plate maintain seat geometry under closing load.
A damaged perimeter seal requires replacement of the complete blade assembly.Mechanical seal retainers allow the gasket to be removed and renewed as a service component.
