Product Introduction

Welded stainless steel ductwork is used where ordinary zinc-coated sheet is unsuitable for repeated cleaning, humid service or aggressive exhaust. Straight sections and fittings are fabricated from 304L or 316L sheet with continuous TIG-welded longitudinal seams; weld discoloration is removed and the surface is passivated or mechanically finished. Flanged transverse joints can use compatible closed-cell gaskets, or sections can be field welded when a continuous metal air path is required. The rigid smooth construction is well suited to pharmaceutical exhaust, washdown areas and corrosive process extraction.

Key Features

Low-carbon 304L or molybdenum-bearing 316L grades support hygienic cleaning and corrosion control.

Continuous TIG-welded seams eliminate folded crevices along the duct length.

Pickled and passivated weld zones restore a uniform corrosion-resistant surface.

Stainless flanges and fasteners prevent mixed-metal staining around serviceable joints.

Customer Product Concerns

A hygienic exhaust route must resist its conveyed atmosphere while avoiding lap seams and incompatible hardware that trap residue or initiate corrosion.

Condensate and cleaning chemicals attack galvanized surfaces. The selected 304L or 316L alloy provides a stainless wetted surface matched to the exposure.
Folded longitudinal seams retain residue in a hygiene-sensitive exhaust line.Continuous butt or lap welding creates a closed seam that can be smoothed and passivated.
Heat tint around a weld becomes an early corrosion site.Post-weld cleaning removes oxide scale before the finished section enters service.
Carbon-steel fasteners leave rust marks on stainless ductwork.Compatible stainless hardware and isolated supports preserve the external finish.
