Heating Coil
- One- or Two-Row Heating Core
- Copper Water Circuit
- Low Airside Depth
- Service-Side Threaded Unions
Product Introduction
The heating coil is a compact hydronic heat exchanger installed upstream or downstream of other AHU treatment stages to raise dry-bulb air temperature. Hot water flows through parallel copper tubes mechanically expanded into aluminum plate fins, and a shallow galvanized casing supports the assembly at the air-handler opening. Heating duty commonly requires fewer tube rows than a chilled-water cooling section, reducing core depth and air resistance where the selected entering-water temperature permits. Replacement selection must match the original face dimensions, tube-row count, circuit arrangement, connection orientation and required sensible heating performance.
Key Features
Mechanically expanded copper tubes maintain direct thermal contact with the continuous aluminum fin surface.
A rigid galvanized frame and corner mounting ears provide defined support at the AHU or duct opening.
The accessible copper header groups the hot-water supply and return connections on one service side.
Customer Product Concerns
A replacement heating coil must provide the required sensible capacity without excessive water resistance, air pressure drop or freeze exposure.
Typical Applications
