ESD Grounding Cord

The ESD Grounding Cord is a flexible coiled lead that connects a wrist strap or garment snap to an approved workstation grounding point.
  • Retractile coil follows operator movement while limiting loose cable.
  • Molded resistor housing supports controlled personnel grounding.
  • Standard snap and banana interfaces connect common ESD hardware.

Product Introduction

Stranded copper conductors are protected by a durable polyurethane jacket formed into a retractile coil. Molded strain relief supports both ends, while the snap socket joins wearable grounding equipment and the banana plug connects to a common-point ground or tester. Selected personnel cords incorporate a current-limiting resistor in the termination assembly.

Key Features

Coiled geometry provides working reach with compact retraction.

Flexible insulation tolerates repeated operator movement.

Molded strain relief reduces bending stress at terminations.

Detachable snap allows rapid replacement and testing.

Banana plug fits standard workstation grounding jacks.

Optional clip adapter supports temporary approved connections.

Customer Product Concerns

Cord reliability depends on correct resistance, durable strain relief, secure terminations and enough working reach without unmanaged cable.

Straight cable drapes across the work surface.A retractile coil shortens the cord when full reach is unnecessary.
Repeated flexing breaks conductors near the plug.Molded strain relief distributes bending away from the termination.
The cord pulls free during normal movement.Positive snap and spring-contact banana plug maintain defined connections.
An unsuitable cord bypasses personnel protection resistance.Specified personnel versions include a molded current-limiting resistor.
An intermittent lead looks normal externally.Detachable construction permits separate continuity and resistance checks.

Typical Applications

Wrist-strap grounding at assembly benches.Groundable garment connections.Portable ESD service kits.Workstation common-point grounding.Personnel tester connections.
