Air-to-Water Heat Pump Unit
- Reversible Heating and Cooling
- Air-Source Heat Exchange
- Integrated Hydronic Options
- Seasonal Capacity Modulation
Product Introduction
The air-to-water heat pump reverses refrigerant flow so its water heat exchanger can either remove heat from the chilled-water loop or add heat to a hot-water loop. Outdoor finned coils exchange energy with ambient air, while scroll compressors and electronic expansion control adapt to seasonal conditions. The unit can serve four-pipe changeover coils, cleanroom support AHUs or low-temperature hot-water systems. Heating operation includes frost detection and defrost sequencing to restore outdoor-coil airflow.
Key Features
Reversible refrigerant circuitry reduces separate boiler and chiller equipment for suitable load profiles.
Variable or staged scroll compressors follow seasonal building demand and improve part-load control.
Integrated defrost management protects heating capacity as frost accumulates on the outdoor coil.
Customer Product Concerns
Air-source heating performance changes with outdoor temperature and frost, so water temperature, coil selection and backup strategy must be considered together.
