Product Introduction

The fan uses a molded dome housing and a single-piece backward-inclined impeller reinforced with glass fiber in a corrosion-resistant vinyl-ester resin system. Its scroll has a smooth, resin-rich internal surface, while UV inhibitors protect the external molding in outdoor service. Hardware exposed to the exhaust path is encapsulated in FRP, and the carbon-steel shaft is isolated by the impeller hub, an internal FRP cap and an O-ring. A neoprene hub seal is standard, with a PTFE seal available for more severe chemical environments.

Key Features

The flat-bladed backward-inclined impeller provides non-overloading centrifugal performance and is balanced as a complete rotating assembly.

Direct-drive and belt-drive arrangements allow the motor selection and service layout to suit the required duty point and installation space.

Dedicated openings draw ambient cooling air through the motor cover instead of using contaminated exhaust air for motor ventilation.

Available roof curbs, bird screens, flexible connectors and vibration isolators complete the weather-side and duct-side installation interfaces.

Customer Product Concerns

Reliable corrosive exhaust depends on matching the resin, fan duty and installation details to the actual gas composition and duct system.

A resin that tolerates one acid may soften or blister in a different solvent, concentration or temperature.Select the vinyl-ester resin and any optional liner from the actual chemical composition, concentration and exhaust temperature.
Choosing the fan only by duct diameter can leave insufficient airflow once filters, elbows and stacks add resistance.Size the wheel and motor from the scheduled airflow and total static pressure on the published fan curve, including accessory losses.
Condensate pools at the bottom of the scroll and concentrates aggressive chemicals.Place the drain at the true low point, route it to a compatible disposal connection and include the scroll in the wash-down schedule.
An undersized roof curb or rigid duct connection transfers wind and fan vibration into the building structure.Match the curb opening and support dimensions to the selected fan size and use a flexible connector plus correctly rated isolators.
