FRP Corrosion-Resistant Exhaust Fan
- 12–40 in. Fan Series
- 200–35,000 CFM Range
- Up to 2.5 in. w.g.
- Roof or Sidewall Mounting
Product Introduction
The fan uses a molded dome housing and a single-piece backward-inclined impeller reinforced with glass fiber in a corrosion-resistant vinyl-ester resin system. Its scroll has a smooth, resin-rich internal surface, while UV inhibitors protect the external molding in outdoor service. Hardware exposed to the exhaust path is encapsulated in FRP, and the carbon-steel shaft is isolated by the impeller hub, an internal FRP cap and an O-ring. A neoprene hub seal is standard, with a PTFE seal available for more severe chemical environments.
Key Features
Direct-drive and belt-drive arrangements allow the motor selection and service layout to suit the required duty point and installation space.
Dedicated openings draw ambient cooling air through the motor cover instead of using contaminated exhaust air for motor ventilation.
Available roof curbs, bird screens, flexible connectors and vibration isolators complete the weather-side and duct-side installation interfaces.
Customer Product Concerns
Reliable corrosive exhaust depends on matching the resin, fan duty and installation details to the actual gas composition and duct system.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
Typical construction ranges for an industrial FRP centrifugal exhaust fan are listed below.
| Core Material | Vinyl-ester fiberglass-reinforced plastic housing and impeller with external metallic drive support |
|---|---|
| Panel Thickness | 5–12 mm nominal molded FRP structural laminate, with local reinforcement at flanges and supports |
| Effective Width | 780–1690 mm overall fan width across the 12–40 in. RBK size range |
| Maximum Length | Up to 1702 mm overall roof-upblast fan height |
| Steel Facing Thickness | 1.2 mm (18-gauge) galvanized steel roof-curb sheet; fiberglass curb construction is optional |
| Core Density | 1500–1900 kg/m³ cured FRP laminate |
| Thermal Conductivity | 0.25–0.40 W/(m·K) for the FRP laminate |
| Surface Finish | Smooth resin-rich interior with a UV-inhibited exterior gel coat in gray, safety orange or a selected industrial color |
| Joint Type | Molded curb-cap or sidewall interface with duct transition, neoprene or PTFE hub seal and FRP-isolated shaft penetration |
| Customization | Available based on the intended application and operating environment. |
