ESD Personnel Tester

The ESD Personnel Tester combines grounding-device verification, operator identification and access-control connectivity in a freestanding station for electrostatic protected area entrances.
  • One entry station verifies wrist-strap and independent left/right footwear grounding paths.
  • Screen, high/pass/low lamps and touch electrode give operators an immediate test sequence.
  • RFID-ready identification and relay options support controlled access and traceable records.

Product Introduction

This integrated entry station uses two electrically isolated stainless footwear plates, a wrist-cord socket and a broad metal touch electrode to check worn personnel grounding equipment. A blue display presents measurement or operating prompts, while separate high, pass and low lamps provide an easily recognized result. The reader area can identify authorized personnel before the test, and an optional relay or data interface can pass an approved result to a door, turnstile or local record system. The tester head is supported by a brushed-stainless post above a stable charcoal platform for repeated industrial use.

Key Features

Split footwear electrodes evaluate the grounding path through each foot independently.

Dedicated wrist-strap socket supports worn-strap verification at the same station.

Large stainless touch electrode initiates the measurement without a mechanical key switch.

Blue display and red/green/red status lamps separate instructions from pass/fail recognition.

Integrated reader area supports RFID badge identification when specified.

Output options can interlock a door, turnstile or other EPA access device after a valid test.

Brushed-stainless contact surfaces are accessible for routine inspection and cleaning.

Customer Product Concerns

An entry tester must verify several grounding paths without slowing personnel flow, associate the result with the correct operator and prevent an incomplete test from being treated as authorization.

A shared footwear contact can hide a failed shoe or heel grounder. Two isolated plates preserve separate left- and right-foot measurements.
Wrist straps and footwear require separate checkpoints. The combined head provides a wrist input, footwear circuits and one touch-operated sequence.
Operators misread a numerical result at a busy entrance.A screen supplies prompts while dedicated high, pass and low lamps communicate the outcome at a glance.
Paper logs cannot reliably associate a test with a person. An RFID-ready reader and optional data interface link identification to the recorded test event.
A failed or skipped test does not stop entry to a sensitive area.A configurable relay output can release an access device only after the required test returns a valid pass.

Typical Applications

Controlled entrances to electronics manufacturing EPAs.Semiconductor assembly and test facilities.Clean manufacturing gowning and personnel-transition zones.Static-sensitive laboratories, repair centers and component stores.Workplaces requiring operator identification before ESD compliance verification.
