Product Introduction

The EPDM gasket is extruded from black ethylene propylene diene rubber as a hollow or cellular profile with raised sealing ribs. Cut lengths can be joined into rectangular loops for doors, access covers and equipment frames, while continuous profiles suit straight panel interfaces. The compound retains elastic recovery under repeated compression and offers practical resistance to water, ozone, weathering and many dilute cleaning solutions encountered around controlled environments.

Key Features

Raised sealing ribs concentrate contact pressure along the mating frame surface.

A hollow compressible section accommodates hardware tolerances without excessive closing force.

EPDM resists ozone, moisture and outdoor weathering better than many general-purpose rubbers.

Vulcanized or bonded corner joints create a continuous loop around rectangular openings.

Customer Product Concerns

A frame gasket must close variable gaps repeatedly while avoiding excessive latch force or permanent compression set.

A solid oversized gasket makes doors difficult to close and overloads latches. The hollow profile compresses progressively so sealing pressure develops without an abrupt closing load.
Flattened rubber fails to recover after long periods under compression. An EPDM compound and section geometry are selected for resilient recovery at the intended squeeze.
Open corner joints become leakage paths around access frames.Factory-vulcanized or carefully bonded mitred corners maintain a continuous closed loop.
Ozone and cleaning moisture crack unsuitable elastomers.Weather-resistant EPDM provides durable service where oil exposure is not the primary requirement.
