Surface Temperature Meter
- Direct Type K contact measurement.
- Conforming spring-band surface probe.
- Hold, minimum, maximum and average recall.
Product Introduction
This contact surface temperature meter reads the thermoelectric voltage from a Type K probe and applies cold-junction compensation inside the handheld instrument. Its separate surface probe uses a thin resilient thermocouple strip that conforms to a flat or gently curved workpiece with light, repeatable pressure. A backlit LCD and direct-access hold, minimum, maximum and average functions support comparison of equipment surfaces without the emissivity uncertainty associated with non-contact infrared readings. The keyed miniature connector allows the meter to accept alternative compatible probes when air, immersion or narrow-access measurements are required.
Key Features
Spring-band sensing tip conforms to flat, slightly convex and mildly uneven surfaces under light pressure.
Single keyed Type K miniature input keeps polarity and probe replacement straightforward.
Backlit LCD with hold, minimum, maximum and average functions supports repeatable survey records.
Separate probe handle and flexible strain-relieved cable keep the operator's hand away from the test surface.
Protective TPE boot, rear kickstand and replaceable battery suit bench and field measurements.
Customer Product Concerns
Reliable contact readings depend on full sensor contact, consistent pressure, probe angle, response time and local heat flow, so the probe geometry and handling method should match the surface being checked.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
Representative construction for a professional single-input surface temperature meter is listed below; probe shape, cable length, response time and working temperature range should be selected for the target material and access conditions.
| Core Material | PC/ABS handheld enclosure with TPE boot, LCD, silicone keypad, Type K miniature thermocouple socket, NiCr-Ni thermocouple conductors, spring-metal contact strip and stainless probe tube |
|---|---|
| Panel Thickness | Typically 2.0-3.0 mm for the molded meter enclosure wall |
| Effective Width | Approximately 60-75 mm across the handheld meter |
| Maximum Length | Approximately 165-190 mm for the meter body, excluding the detachable probe and cable |
| Steel Facing Thickness | Typically 0.3-0.8 mm for the probe shell, spring contact, shielding and fasteners |
| Core Density | Approximately 1100-1200 kg/m³ for the PC/ABS enclosure blend |
| Thermal Conductivity | Approximately 0.19-0.22 W/(m·K) for the PC/ABS enclosure blend |
| Surface Finish | Blue-gray fine-texture enclosure, black TPE protective boot, pale-green LCD, yellow Type K connector, black cable and satin-stainless probe tip |
| Joint Type | Keyed polarized Type K miniature socket with strain-relieved cable, angled stainless probe neck, resilient surface-contact strip, rear battery cover and folding kickstand |
