Product Introduction

The Modbus protocol gateway converts Modbus RTU or ASCII frames on RS-485 or RS-232 links into Modbus TCP transactions on Ethernet. Serial-port isolation protects communication branches from ground-potential differences, while configurable timeouts and retry behavior suit sensors with different response speeds. Multiple TCP clients can access mapped serial devices within controlled connection limits. Web configuration, traffic counters and exception diagnostics help engineers locate duplicate addresses, framing errors and offline instruments without probing each cleanroom device individually.

Key Features

Modbus RTU, ASCII and TCP conversion links legacy field devices to Ethernet systems.

Isolated serial ports reduce ground-loop and surge effects across long RS-485 trunks.

Per-port baud rate, parity and timeout settings match existing cleanroom instruments.

Diagnostic counters identify CRC errors, timeouts and unreachable slave addresses.

Customer Product Concerns

A Modbus gateway must manage timing, addressing and electrical differences between serial field buses and multiple Ethernet clients.

Serial devices use different baud rate or parity settings on separate branches.Independent serial-port configuration preserves each trunk's communication format.
Two devices share the same slave address and respond unpredictably.Traffic diagnostics expose repeated responses and address conflicts for correction.
A long RS-485 trunk introduces ground and surge disturbances.Galvanic isolation separates field serial wiring from Ethernet and power electronics.
Several software clients overload a slow serial device.Connection limits, polling control and response timeout settings manage request traffic.
