Product Introduction

The Medical Waste Pass Box is a through-wall dirty hatch for removing sealed clinical waste and used consumable packs from an operating room to an adjacent soiled holding area without opening the personnel door. Its double-wall AISI 316L stainless housing contains two opposing solid doors, keeping waste contents out of sight and separating the interlock hardware from the wipe-clean transfer space. A no-touch sensor requests door release, while local green and red indicators show whether access is available or retained by the opposite side. Inside, welded coved transitions guide incidental liquid toward a shallow removable tray beneath the chamber so the tray can be withdrawn for separate cleaning. This is a static transfer hatch: it does not include a recirculating fan, HEPA filter or sterilization cycle.

Key Features

Opposing electronic locks prevent the clean-side and dirty-side doors from being opened together.

Solid stainless door panels conceal discarded materials and avoid a glazed ledge around the waste-transfer opening.

The empty 316L chamber uses radiused internal transitions and a continuous gasket line for accessible routine wipe-down.

A raised-edge stainless spill tray slides out independently to contain and remove incidental leakage below the transfer floor.

Customer Product Concerns

Waste transfer at a clinical clean-to-soiled boundary must prevent a simultaneous opening, minimize hand contact and keep unexpected leakage accessible for removal.

Carrying bagged waste through the operating-room personnel door increases traffic and interrupts the intended clean-to-dirty route. The dedicated through-wall chamber sends sealed waste directly to the adjacent soiled side without routine staff passage through the main door.
Two open hatch doors can form an uncontrolled direct path between the operating room and dirty holding area. The electronic interlock retains the opposing solid door whenever one transfer side has been released.
Waste handling can contaminate pull handles and leave difficult-to-clean crevices around the chamber.Infrared request sensors remove the routine hand-grip step, while the coved stainless interior reduces ledges around the load path.
A punctured or incompletely closed waste bag can release liquid into a fixed cabinet floor. The raised-edge tray collects incidental leakage below the chamber and can be removed separately for cleaning and inspection.
