Product Introduction

Hot water passes through copper circuits expanded into aluminum fins, creating a large air-side transfer surface within a flanged casing. Separate supply and return headers distribute flow across the face, and vents at high points remove trapped air. Row count, fin pitch and circuiting can be selected for conventional boiler water or lower-temperature heat-pump loops.

Key Features

Copper tubes and aluminum fins combine high thermal conductivity with widely available service materials.

Counterflow circuiting maintains useful mean temperature difference across multiple rows.

Header vents and low-point drains support filling, air removal and seasonal service.

Fin spacing and protective coatings can be matched to filtration level and cleaning method.

Customer Product Concerns

Hydronic heating coils must deliver the required capacity at available water temperature without excessive water or air pressure drop.

Low-temperature hot water cannot heat through an undersized coil face.Additional rows and optimized circuiting provide more transfer area at a smaller water-air temperature difference.
Trapped air blocks circuits and creates cold sections.High-point automatic or manual vents release air from both supply and return headers.
High water velocity causes erosion and noise.Circuit quantity is selected to keep tube velocity within a stable hydronic range.
Tight fin spacing clogs before scheduled filter maintenance.A suitable fin pitch balances heat-transfer area with cleanability and face pressure drop.
