Product Introduction

Galvanized steel rectangular ductwork provides a durable and economical air path where ceiling zones, risers or equipment connections favor a rectangular section. Straight sections are formed from zinc-coated sheet steel with Pittsburgh-lock or welded longitudinal seams, transverse reinforcement and flanged ends selected for the duct dimensions and pressure duty. Smooth internal surfaces reduce friction and provide accessible wipe-down areas, while mastic or closed-cell gaskets seal the transverse joints. The format integrates readily with dampers, filters, terminal housings and rectangular equipment plenums.

Key Features

Zinc-coated sheet steel provides practical corrosion protection for conditioned indoor air systems.

Rectangular proportions use shallow ceiling voids more efficiently than equivalent circular ductwork.

Standing seams, beading or external reinforcement limit panel vibration on larger duct faces.

Flanged transverse joints allow long routes to be assembled from replaceable factory-made sections.

Customer Product Concerns

Rectangular ductwork must remain rigid, clean and sufficiently airtight even when broad panels and numerous field joints are installed above a congested cleanroom ceiling.

Wide duct faces drum or flex when fan pressure changes.Sheet gauge, cross-breaking and reinforcement spacing are selected for the largest panel dimension and pressure class.
Air leakage at repeated transverse joints wastes conditioned cleanroom airflow.Matched flange corners, continuous gasket and exterior sealant create a consistent joint compression path.
A round duct cannot fit the available shallow ceiling zone.A low-profile rectangular aspect ratio preserves flow area while reducing installed depth.
Exposed cut edges corrode after site modification.Cut edges are deburred, cleaned and protected with a compatible zinc-rich repair coating.
