Product Introduction

The Compressed Gas Microbial Sampler connects to a regulated process-gas outlet and maintains the culture plate within a pressure-rated impaction chamber during collection. Pressure and mass-flow sensors adjust the metering path for the selected gas while a perforated lid distributes the stream over agar. Keeping impaction under pressure avoids the sudden dynamic decompression that can injure microorganisms and produce false-low recovery. After the programmed normal-liter volume is reached, the unit performs a controlled decompression step before the chamber is opened.

Key Features

Under-pressure collection protects microbial recovery from abrupt expansion at the sample point.

Gas-specific mass-flow correction supports compressed air, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and argon.

Automatic pressure measurement, flow selection and decompression reduce manual valve errors.

A pressure hose and optional exhaust line route inlet and discharged gas safely.

Customer Product Concerns

Compressed-gas monitoring must reduce pressure without damaging organisms, miscalculating gas volume or discharging hazardous gas into the work area.

Rapid decompression stresses captured microorganisms and can lower recovery. The culture plate remains in a pressure-rated chamber during impaction, followed by controlled decompression.
Different gas density causes inaccurate volume when one calibration is assumed.Gas selection, pressure sensing and mass-flow regulation calculate and control the appropriate normal-liter volume.
Insufficient utility flow prevents the configured 100 L/min sample rate.An automatic lower-flow mode can continue within the qualified operating configuration.
Carbon dioxide or contaminated exhaust accumulates near the operator.A dedicated exhaust connection accepts tubing for controlled discharge to a suitable location.
