Product Introduction

Chemical-resistant novolac epoxy flooring uses a highly cross-linked resin structure to withstand chemicals that can soften or rapidly stain general-purpose epoxy. It is installed as a high-build multi-coat system or as a sealed aggregate-broadcast topping, depending on traffic and traction needs. The resin is carried over prepared concrete, coves, plinths and containment upstands to limit exposed leakage paths. Final resin selection is based on the actual chemical, concentration, exposure temperature, contact duration and cleaning regime rather than a generic acid-resistant claim.

Customer Product Concerns

Chemical exposure is defined by concentration, temperature and contact time; a coating that survives a brief splash may not tolerate warm continuous immersion.

Concentrated acid softens or discolors a standard general-purpose epoxy.A higher-cross-link novolac epoxy is selected against the known chemical concentration and exposure temperature.
A pinhole allows liquid to reach concrete and spread beneath the coating.Primer, stripe coats at details and multiple high-build layers close pores before the floor enters service.
