Product Introduction

The duct air velocity sensor places a heated-film element in the moving airstream and determines velocity from the heat removed by the flow. A graduated stainless probe and adjustable flange position the sensing tip away from the duct boundary layer. Direction markings help align the element with the airflow, while selectable ranges match low- and high-velocity duct applications. The electronics provide a linear voltage or current output and can include a separate temperature signal for HVAC diagnostics.

Key Features

Hot-film measurement reads velocity directly without a separate differential pressure transmitter.

An adjustable mounting flange places the sensing element at the selected duct depth.

Directional markings prevent installation with the element facing the wrong way.

Selectable output ranges improve signal resolution for different cleanroom duct velocities.

Customer Product Concerns

A duct velocity sensor can be accurate only when its probe is oriented correctly and located outside strong turbulence or the wall boundary layer.

The probe is installed too close to the duct wall and reads a low local velocity.Graduated insertion and an adjustable flange place the element at a representative depth.
The sensor is rotated away from the airflow direction.A visible direction arrow aligns the hot-film element with the moving air.
One wide range gives weak resolution at normal low-speed operation.Selectable velocity ranges match the electrical span to the actual duct condition.
Dust accumulation changes thermal response over time.A smooth protected hot-film design reduces exposed geometry and allows planned inspection.
