Product Introduction

This access control reader is a compact external credential interface for controlled cleanroom personnel doors and airlocks. Its matte-black PC/ABS housing encloses the radio-frequency electronics behind a smooth wipeable face, with one embossed presentation symbol, a narrow bicolor status lens and an audible indicator aperture. A dark perimeter gasket sits between the reader and its slim silver mounting plate, while two countersunk holes locate the assembly on a mullion or flat frame. The single rear pigtail routes power and data to a compatible access controller; the reader does not contain a door lock, biometric imager, keypad or motor controller.

Key Features

The slim non-keypad format fits narrow door-frame and mullion positions without projecting a public control panel into the cleanroom passage.

Contactless credential reading avoids a card slot and supports a smooth front surface that is straightforward to wipe during routine facility cleaning.

One bicolor status lens and an internal audible indicator provide immediate transaction feedback without adding a screen or exposed mechanical button.

A gasketed two-hole mounting interface and single rear pigtail keep the reader body compact while separating field wiring from the credential-presenting surface.

Customer Product Concerns

Reader replacement requires agreement between credential technology, panel protocol, voltage, conductor functions and mounting geometry; a reader that fits the frame may still be electronically incompatible.

Existing cards or mobile credentials may use a frequency or data technology that a visually similar reader cannot interpret. The reader technology is selected against the deployed 13.56 MHz, optional 125 kHz and NFC credential population before the old unit is removed.
Legacy unsupervised wiring can make communication faults difficult to distinguish from a damaged credential reader.Where the connected panel supports it, an OSDP configuration provides supervised bidirectional communication; matched Wiegand output remains available for compatible legacy panels.
A wide keypad or display housing can obstruct a narrow frame and create additional ledges in a controlled doorway. The sealed narrow reader uses a single smooth presentation face, a shallow body and two-point mounting without a keypad, touchscreen or biometric camera.
Moisture or cleaning residue reaching the rear cable opening can cause intermittent power or data faults. The continuous perimeter gasket and rear-routed single pigtail maintain a defined mounting interface when the frame surface and cable entry are properly prepared.
