Product Introduction

The V-bank activated carbon filter uses several bonded-carbon pleat packs or restrained loose-fill adsorbent cells mounted at alternating angles within a deep rigid frame. The V geometry increases exposed media area and reduces face velocity through each cell, giving more contact opportunity than a shallow panel. A molded polymer, galvanized-steel or stainless-steel frame supports the loaded adsorbent and includes a standard header gasket. Broad-spectrum carbon addresses mixed odors and VOCs, while impregnated carbon or activated-alumina blends can target specific acid, base or oxidizing gases.

Key Features

Angled V cells fit more molecular media behind a standard HVAC face opening.

Lower velocity through each cell improves adsorbent contact while controlling filter resistance.

Rigid supports prevent loaded carbon panels from sagging or separating from the header.

Individual adsorbent formulations can target broad VOC mixtures, acid gases, bases or ozone.

Customer Product Concerns

High-airflow systems need meaningful molecular-media area, but a deep granular bed may be too heavy or require a dedicated housing.

A shallow carbon panel has insufficient media exposure at high face velocity.Multiple angled cells expand the active area and reduce velocity through each adsorbent section.
A conventional deep-bed carbon bank is too heavy for the existing filter rack. The modular V-cell format distributes media in a lighter drop-in cartridge.
Loose carbon settles away from the top of vertical cells.Bonded media or vibration-filled restrained cells maintain a more even adsorbent distribution.
One carbon grade is ineffective against the dominant process gas.Broad-spectrum, acid-gas, base-gas or oxidant-targeted media can be selected by contaminant family.
