Sterile IPA Solution
- Premixed 70/30 IPA-to-water ratio removes on-site dilution variability
- Filtered sterile-format solution supports transfer into critical processing areas
- Low-residue evaporation suits frequent cleaning between production activities
Product Introduction
Sterile IPA Solution is a clear, colorless, ready-to-use blend of 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol and 30% WFI-quality or purified water. It is intended for compatible, hard, nonporous surfaces in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, and other controlled environments. Protected trigger bottles support targeted spray or broad surface coverage without routine decanting, while capped bulk containers suit validated mop or wipe preparation. Double- or triple-bagged configurations simplify staged material transfer. Because IPA is flammable and is not a sporicide, each facility should define surface compatibility, application method, ventilation, ignition control, and disinfectant rotation in its approved procedure.
Key Features
Clear, colorless liquid with rapid, low-residue evaporation
0.2 or 0.22 micron filtration configurations
Sterile presentation available through terminal irradiation
Protected trigger system helps reduce air ingress during dispensing
Tamper-evident closure supports controlled receipt and storage
Double- or triple-bagged formats for staged cleanroom transfer
Trigger, capped bulk, and bag-on-valve dispensing options
Customer Product Concerns
IPA transferred from bulk stock can be diluted incorrectly, exposed to particles, or contaminated through repeated container opening. Conventional spray heads may draw room air back into the bottle, while unsuitable packaging makes cleanroom transfer awkward. Fast evaporation also means operators need a defined application volume and wiping pattern to achieve complete, repeatable surface coverage.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
An aqueous 70% v/v isopropyl alcohol blend balances alcohol action with sufficient water to wet a hard surface before evaporation. The solution is commonly prepared with Water for Injection or high-grade purified water, passed through a 0.2 or 0.22 micron filter, filled into controlled packaging, and terminally irradiated where a sterile presentation is required. A sealed trigger or tamper-evident capped format helps protect the prepared concentration during storage and use.
