Product Introduction

A rectangular duct silencer places parallel acoustic splitters inside a sealed galvanized casing. Perforated metal faces expose sound energy to the protected absorptive media while maintaining a defined straight airflow passage. Splitter thickness, air gap and overall length are selected to balance insertion loss against system pressure drop. For hygiene-sensitive air, polymer film liners or packless resonant construction isolate fibrous media from the airstream.

Key Features

Parallel splitter geometry provides broad-band attenuation without changing the direction of airflow.

Aerodynamic noses and tails reduce turbulence where air enters and leaves each baffle.

Perforated metal or film-protected faces prevent erosion of acoustic fill into the air stream.

Low-, medium- and high-velocity configurations match different pressure-drop allowances.

Customer Product Concerns

A duct silencer must reduce the relevant frequency bands without consuming the fan pressure needed for filters and terminal devices.

Fan blade-pass noise travels directly through the supply main.Selected splitter spacing and length absorb energy in the dominant octave bands.
A restrictive silencer increases fan energy and reduces cleanroom airflow.Air-gap area and aerodynamic splitter profiles are sized for the scheduled face velocity.
Fibrous acoustic media is unacceptable in a critical supply stream.Film-lined or packless construction isolates or eliminates exposed fibrous fill.
The silencer casing leaks around splitter penetrations and seams.Sealed outer construction maintains the same leakage duty as the connected duct system.
