Quaternary Ammonium Disinfectant
- 0.037% DDAC formulation supports routine hard-surface sanitizing at a low active concentration
- Nonflammable water-based chemistry avoids the vapor and ignition limits of alcohol systems
- Capped bulk packaging provides controlled supply for qualified cleanroom wipes and mops
Product Introduction
Quaternary Ammonium Disinfectant is a clear, colorless to pale-yellow ready-to-use solution based on a low concentration of DDAC blended with WFI-quality or purified water. The broad 3.8 L round-shoulder natural HDPE container has a recessed rear-side grip for controlled carrying and pouring without the tall top handle used on a jerrycan. A ribbed double-wall dosing cap and tamper-evident ring protect the threaded neck, while the translucent body shows the remaining liquid level. Capped, double- or triple-bagged formats can feed a qualified mop or wipe system for floors, walls, work surfaces, carts, and equipment exteriors. The surface must remain visibly wet for the labeled time, and compatibility with the preceding detergent, applicator, substrate, and residue-removal method should be established before routine use.
Key Features
Water for Injection or purified-water blend options
Clear, nonflammable liquid with no alcohol vapor contribution
Low active concentration to limit routine residue accumulation
0.2 micron filtered and sterile-fill configurations
Wide round-shoulder HDPE container with recessed side grip
Ribbed double-wall dosing cap with tamper-evident ring
Double- or triple-bagged cleanroom transfer options
Customer Product Concerns
Quaternary ammonium actives remain on the surface instead of evaporating, so repeated over-application can create a tacky film that attracts particles. Anionic detergent residue may also neutralize a cationic quat, while porous wipes can retain part of the active and change delivery. Correct pre-cleaning chemistry, a compatible low-binding applicator, measured dosing, complete wetting, and a scheduled residue-removal step keep the disinfectant program consistent. Routine quat chemistry is not a substitute for a separately selected sporicidal stage.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
Didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride is a cationic quaternary ammonium compound that adsorbs to microbial cell surfaces and disrupts membrane function. A representative cleanroom ready-to-use formulation contains 0.037% DDAC in Water for Injection, giving routine surface activity at a much lower nonvolatile-solids level than many traditional quat systems. Cleanroom presentations may be passed through a 0.2 micron filter, sterile filled, and supplied in protected primary packaging. Because efficacy is label-specific, the target organisms, soil condition, application rate, and wet-contact time must follow the selected regional formulation rather than a generic concentration claim.
