Quaternary Ammonium Disinfectant is a clear, colorless to pale-yellow ready-to-use solution based on a low concentration of DDAC blended with WFI-quality or purified water. The broad 3.8 L round-shoulder natural HDPE container has a recessed rear-side grip for controlled carrying and pouring without the tall top handle used on a jerrycan. A ribbed double-wall dosing cap and tamper-evident ring protect the threaded neck, while the translucent body shows the remaining liquid level. Capped, double- or triple-bagged formats can feed a qualified mop or wipe system for floors, walls, work surfaces, carts, and equipment exteriors. The surface must remain visibly wet for the labeled time, and compatibility with the preceding detergent, applicator, substrate, and residue-removal method should be established before routine use.

Quaternary ammonium actives remain on the surface instead of evaporating, so repeated over-application can create a tacky film that attracts particles. Can detergent left on the surface reduce activity?Anionic surfactants can interfere with cationic quaternary ammonium compounds. The cleaning sequence should therefore use a verified compatible detergent or include a complete rinse before the disinfectant is applied.

Does the wipe or mop change the delivered concentration?Some fibrous substrates can bind quaternary ammonium active. A low-binding qualified wipe or mop, fixed saturation ratio, and controlled dispensing method help keep the amount transferred to the surface consistent.

How is dilution error avoided for routine cleaning rounds?The ready-to-use formulation removes operator measurement and water-quality variation at the point of use. Will this disinfectant control bacterial spores?Routine quaternary ammonium chemistry should not be assumed to be sporicidal. The contamination-control program can rotate it with a separately qualified sporicide while retaining the quat for frequent treatment of organisms covered by its local label.
