Point-of-Use Air Filter
- Three purification functions in one service housing
- 80 m³/h nominal flow at 7 bar
- 330 mbar new-condition dry differential pressure
Product Introduction
The Point-of-Use Air Filter is an equipment-side purification unit for branches where distribution-pipe contamination, oil vapour and residual aerosol must be reduced immediately before compressed air reaches the consumer. The selected DF-T 0080-class assembly places one combined three-zone element inside a compact die-cast aluminum housing: a borosilicate coalescing section first removes fine liquid aerosol and particles, a packed coconut-shell activated-carbon section adsorbs oil vapour and hydrocarbons, and a final high-performance particle section retains carbon fines and downstream solids. Two opposed G 3/4 ports maintain straight-through flow, while a rotatable monitoring head, pneumatic float drain and adjustable wall bracket support installation and servicing in limited space. The unit does not dry water vapour, regulate pressure or provide sterilizing-grade microbial retention, so upstream drying and any application-specific sterile barrier remain separate functions.
Key Features
Borosilicate-fleece stages provide fine aerosol and particle capture before and after the carbon bed
Coconut-shell activated carbon targets oil vapour and hydrocarbon odour that a coalescing-only filter cannot remove
An integrated Economizer monitors service time and differential pressure to support condition-based element replacement
The head-mounted indicator can be rotated toward the service aisle without changing the opposed line-port orientation
A bottom KA 1/2 pneumatic float drain continuously discharges separated liquid without adding a manual drain routine
The pressure-interlocked bayonet connection allows the bowl and element to be removed together while resisting opening under pressure
An adjustable wall bracket keeps the terminal unit close to the consuming machine and preserves clearance beneath the bowl
Customer Product Concerns
A terminal filter can be undersized, saturated or bypassed when peak demand, upstream condensate, carbon loading and maintenance clearance are treated as secondary details.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
The selected catalogue-scale identity is a DF-T 0080-class three-stage terminal filter using a DF 0210-size housing. It is approximately 382 mm high and 139 mm wide, has opposed G 3/4 threaded connections and publishes 80 m³/h nominal flow at 7 bar(g), referenced to 1 bar absolute and 20°C. Under the manufacturer's stated inlet conditions, the new dry differential pressure is 330 mbar and the outlet target is ISO 8573-1:2010 Class 1 for solid particles and oil, with oil below 0.003 mg/m³. The housing is rated to 16 bar and +1°C to +65°C, although an operating temperature no higher than 30°C is recommended to protect activated-carbon service life; the published reference life is 2000 hours at 20°C and about 1000 hours at 30°C for the stated mineral-oil condition. Delivered quality and service life depend on upstream drying, inlet aerosol and vapour load, pressure, temperature, flow profile, drain function and maintenance practice.
