Mixed-Flow Inline Fan
- Compact Mixed-Flow Impeller
- External Motor Arrangement
- Integrated Flow Straighteners
- Straight-Through Duct Layout
Product Introduction
The mixed-flow inline fan places a conical mixed-flow impeller and stationary guide vanes inside a rigid circular housing. Air enters along the fan axis, gains both axial velocity and radial pressure through the impeller, and passes through straightening vanes before leaving the discharge flange. Positioning the motor and drive components outside the primary airstream improves access and protects them from hot or contaminated exhaust while retaining the space-saving advantages of an inline unit.
Key Features
Downstream guide vanes recover swirl energy and deliver a more uniform velocity profile to the connected duct.
An external motor base keeps electrical and drive components away from the primary airstream and within easy service reach.
Rolled flanges and a welded tubular frame allow horizontal or vertical mounting between standard circular duct sections.
Customer Product Concerns
Space-limited duct systems often need more pressure than an axial fan can provide but cannot accommodate the turning space of a conventional centrifugal scroll.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
Typical fabricated dimensions for an external-motor mixed-flow inline fan serving commercial or cleanroom ductwork are shown below.
| Core Material | Coated-steel mixed-flow impeller and straightening vanes inside a rolled carbon-steel tubular housing |
|---|---|
| Panel Thickness | 2.5-5.0 mm cylindrical casing and formed end-flange thickness |
| Effective Width | 450-1800 mm nominal circular duct diameter |
| Maximum Length | Up to 3200 mm overall fan length including external motor and drive frame |
| Steel Facing Thickness | 2.0-5.0 mm coated steel for the shell, vane supports and access covers |
| Core Density | Approximately 7800-7900 kg/m³ for the fabricated steel airflow components |
| Thermal Conductivity | Approximately 45-55 W/(m·K) for the carbon-steel casing and vane assembly |
| Surface Finish | Dark teal industrial powder coating with galvanized flanges and protected fasteners |
| Joint Type | Welded tubular casing with bolted circular flanges, external bearing supports and a guarded belt-drive connection |
| Customization | Available based on the intended application and operating environment. |
