Knife-Edge HEPA Filter
- Integral Aluminum Knife Edge
- Gel-Grid Compatibility
- Common-Plenum Installation
- Positive Perimeter Engagement
Product Introduction
The knife-edge HEPA filter incorporates a thin continuous blade into the extruded-aluminum frame rather than carrying the gel on the filter itself. When the panel is lowered into a cleanroom ceiling grid or terminal housing, this blade enters the receiving gel trough and forms a fluid seal around all four sides. The mini-pleat media pack is potted within a separate frame cavity, and protective faceguards shield the filter during common-plenum installation. This configuration is especially useful where the ceiling grid retains the reusable gel channel and filter weight assists the sealing engagement.
Key Features
The blade engages the reusable gel channel built into compatible ceiling grids or equipment.
Filter weight and optional retainers maintain consistent penetration without crushing a foam gasket.
The sealing blade is physically separated from the potted mini-pleat pack to protect media integrity.
Customer Product Concerns
Knife-edge filters require precise blade geometry and careful alignment so the complete perimeter enters the receiving gel without damaging the trough.
Typical Applications
