Clean Steam Trap
- Near-saturation condensate response
- Crevice-free self-draining body
- Serviceable sanitary clamp split
Product Introduction
The Clean Steam Trap is a compact vertical in-line device that drains condensate and non-condensable gas from hygienic steam systems without functioning as a filter, separator or control valve. The selected identity uses two smooth 316L body halves joined by one safety clamp, with a sanitary clamp ferrule at the top inlet and a coaxial ferrule at the bottom outlet. Inside, a temperature-sensitive balanced-pressure capsule opens while the assembly is cold to pass air, condensate and cleaning fluid, then moves toward the angled seat as the fluid approaches steam saturation temperature. Downward flow, a low-retention internal path and a removable capsule-and-seal assembly support clean-steam mains, sterile barriers and SIP equipment drainage where pooling is undesirable.
Key Features
Balanced-pressure thermostatic capsule responsive to condensate temperature
Vertical downward-flow arrangement for gravity-assisted drainage
Angled internal seat that directs liquid toward the lower outlet
Single safety clamp for controlled body disassembly
Replaceable capsule element and composite hygienic seal
Sanitary clamp ends for removable process-line installation
Polished crevice-minimizing exterior with no handwheel or actuator
Customer Product Concerns
A hygienic trap must evacuate start-up air and condensate quickly while limiting retained liquid, live-steam loss and maintenance exposure in a compact drain leg.
Typical Applications
Technical Parameters
The selected catalogue identity is a DN15 vertical sanitary-clamp clean-steam trap with one balanced-pressure capsule. The dimensions below describe the compact selected configuration; final connection standard, discharge duty, capsule response, seal compound and surface finish are matched to the application.
| Core Material | 316L stainless-steel inlet body, outlet body and thermostatic capsule with a 316 stainless safety clamp and PTFE/316L composite seal |
|---|---|
| Panel Thickness | Pressure-retaining 316L body wall typically 3.0–4.0 mm for the selected DN15 sanitary size |
| Effective Width | 77 mm maximum clamp-and-body envelope in the selected sanitary configuration |
| Maximum Length | Approximately 130 mm overall end-to-end length for the selected DN15 vertical assembly |
| Steel Facing Thickness | Sanitary ferrule lip and capsule support stock typically 1.5–2.0 mm |
| Core Density | 316L stainless steel approximately 8000 kg/m³ |
| Thermal Conductivity | 316L stainless steel approximately 15 W/(m·K) at 20°C |
| Surface Finish | Internal wetted surfaces approximately 0.6 µm Ra and external surfaces approximately 1.0 µm Ra; electropolished internal finish to approximately 0.375 µm Ra available |
| Joint Type | Vertical inline DN15 sanitary Tri-Clamp inlet and outlet with one central safety-clamp body closure |
