Product Introduction

The Animal Laboratory Transfer Chamber is a through-wall enclosure for moving closed mouse or rat transport boxes between a receiving side and a controlled vivarium side without opening a personnel doorway. The selected double-door configuration has two opposing gasket-compression observation doors governed by a one-door-at-a-time interlock. A single top-mounted blower returns chamber air through one HEPA cartridge, directs it downward through the ceiling diffuser and collects it at two low-level return slots. The satin-brushed AISI 304 chamber has a coved empty interior, a rear mounting flange and clear glazing for load checks from either room. One differential-pressure gauge, green operating lamp, amber lock lamp and speed-control knob provide local status without converting the chamber into a mobile animal cart, open cage-changing station, medical supply pass box or waste hatch. The illustrated chamber contains no shelf, removable tray, UV lamp or sterilization system.

Key Features

The opposing door interlock permits only one transfer side to be opened at a time, limiting a direct air path through the vivarium barrier while the other gasketed door remains secured.

One compact recirculating HEPA-and-blower module supplies the ceiling diffuser and receives air from the two lower return slots, providing an active transfer space without a second fan or exhaust duct.

Large colorless observation windows allow staff on both sides to verify chamber occupancy and door condition before operating the next interlocked door.

The coved stainless interior, low-profile return slots and front-access filter compartment keep the transfer zone free of loose shelves and simplify routine wipe-down and service access.

Customer Product Concerns

Animal-facility receiving points must move bulky closed transport containers across a room barrier while controlling door sequence, chamber cleanliness and load visibility.

Opposing transfer doors can create a direct path between rooms if both are opened together. The one-door-at-a-time interlock keeps the opposite gasket-compression door secured throughout loading and unloading.
A static chamber can retain airborne particles introduced during repeated door openings. The single recirculating blower moves chamber air through one HEPA cartridge, then down from the ceiling diffuser to the low-level return slots.
Animal transport boxes require more clear depth and visual confirmation than a small clinical specimen hatch. The representative 485 mm clear width, 871 mm transfer depth and glazed opposing doors accommodate compatible closed rodent transport containers while preserving visibility.
Hidden filter loading or unclear interlock status can delay a controlled receiving sequence.A local pressure gauge, green operating lamp, amber lock lamp and accessible single filter/fan compartment provide direct checks at the chamber.

Typical Applications

Receiving closed mouse or rat transport boxes across a vivarium clean-to-less-controlled boundaryBarrier transfer of compatible closed rodent cages between quarantine and designated holding routesMovement of packaged animal-care supplies through a room partition without opening a personnel doorLaboratory-animal facilities requiring a glazed, actively filtered transfer enclosure at a fixed wall opening
