Surface Resistance Meter

The Surface Resistance Meter is a portable digital test kit for measuring resistance point-to-point and resistance to ground on ESD work surfaces, floors, carts and other controlled materials.
  • Wide-range digital measurement supports ESD material classification and compliance checks.
  • Two cylindrical weighted electrodes enable repeatable resistance point-to-point measurements.
  • Separate red and black connections support both point-to-point and resistance-to-ground setups.

Product Introduction

This kit combines a high-resistance digital meter with two matched cylindrical electrodes and color-coded test leads. The green display presents readings in scientific notation, while five direct controls handle power, test initiation, range, hold and memory functions. Two red measurement sockets and a central black reference connection keep common RTT and RTG arrangements easy to identify. Each weighted electrode uses a stainless body, insulated cap and banana connection to apply a consistent contact load during installed-surface verification.

Key Features

Scientific-notation LCD displays wide resistance values without manual conversion.

Automatic or selectable 10 V and 100 V test potential supports different resistance ranges.

Two matched 2.27 kg weighted electrodes provide consistent surface contact pressure.

Independent measurement and reference sockets simplify RTT and RTG lead placement.

Hold and internal-memory options assist documented multi-location surveys.

Integrated kickstand keeps the display visible while electrodes are positioned.

Color-coded leads reduce connection errors during field use.

Customer Product Concerns

High-resistance measurements are sensitive to contact force, test voltage, stabilization time and lead arrangement, so a field kit must make each part of the setup visible and repeatable.

Handheld probes create inconsistent contact pressure. Two matched weighted electrodes apply a repeatable load at both measurement points.
One test voltage is unsuitable across conductive and dissipative ranges.Selectable or automatic 10 V and 100 V operation matches the potential to the measured resistance band.
Point-to-point and point-to-ground connections are easily confused. Two red measurement sockets and a central black reference socket establish a clear connection scheme.
The reading changes while an electrode is being repositioned.Hold and memory functions retain a result for transcription and comparison.
Floor and workbench surveys require many measurements.A portable meter, kickstand and detachable color-coded leads support efficient movement between locations.

Typical Applications

Resistance-to-ground checks on ESD worksurfaces.Point-to-point resistance measurements on flooring.Verification of shelving, carts, chairs and storage equipment.Evaluation of static-control packaging and sheet materials.Periodic facility audits within an ESD control program.
