Product Introduction

The split butterfly valve uses an active operating half and a passive container half whose disc faces dock before the flow path opens. When coupled, the two disc segments act as one butterfly disc; after transfer, they close before separation so product-contact faces remain covered. A compact stainless body, replaceable elastomer seals and mechanical position control support contained charging and discharge duties where conventional open connections would release dust.

Key Features

Active and passive valve halves dock into one aligned transfer interface.

Split-disc faces remain covered during normal connection and disconnection sequences.

Satin stainless product-contact surfaces support repeatable cleaning and inspection.

Mechanical locking prevents opening until the mating halves are correctly engaged.

Customer Product Concerns

Powder transfers can expose operators, contaminate adjacent rooms and leave difficult-to-clean residue on open connection faces.

Breaking a conventional hose or flange can release residual powder. The two disc halves close before undocking, covering the product-contact interface during separation.
Incorrect connection sequencing can open an incomplete transfer path.Mechanical docking and operating interlocks control the order of coupling, opening, closing and release.
Valve internals can retain material between campaigns.Smooth product-contact surfaces and accessible seals simplify disassembly, cleaning and visual inspection.
Different vessels require a repeatable portable connection.A standardized passive half can be fitted to compatible containers while the active half remains at the process station.

Typical Applications

Potent API charging and dischargeTablet and capsule powder transferContained blender and granulator connectionsIntermediate bulk container docking
