Product Introduction

This portable acoustic instrument combines a single prepolarized condenser microphone and removable preamplifier coupling with a high-contrast backlit display for repeatable facility-noise measurements. It can show sound pressure level, equivalent continuous level, maximum, minimum and peak results while selected A, C or Z frequency weighting and Fast, Slow or Impulse time weighting define how the signal is evaluated. Time-history logging, a threaded tripod insert and a windscreen that can be removed for acoustic-calibrator coupling support unattended room surveys and documented pre- and post-measurement checks.

Key Features

Integrating measurement provides Leq alongside instantaneous SPL, maximum, minimum and peak results.

Selectable A, C and Z frequency weightings support human-response, high-level and unweighted investigations.

Fast, Slow and Impulse time weightings help characterize steady, fluctuating and short-duration noise.

Single detachable 1/2-inch measurement microphone accepts a black foam windscreen or acoustic calibrator.

Backlit LCD and eight-button keypad keep primary settings and logged values visible during field work.

Tripod-ready enclosure reduces handling noise and operator influence during cleanroom background surveys.

Customer Product Concerns

Reliable acoustic surveys depend on microphone position, time and frequency weighting, observation period, reflected sound and the operator's distance, so the complete measurement method must remain consistent from point to point.

Holding the instrument or standing close to the microphone can introduce handling noise and disturb the sound field.A 1/4-inch tripod insert and logged measurement timer allow unattended capture with consistent microphone placement.
A fluctuating source is difficult to represent with a single instantaneous reading.Integrating Leq, maximum, minimum, peak and time-history records describe both average exposure and short events.
Different survey methods may require different response weightings, making readings hard to compare.Selectable A, C and Z frequency weightings plus Fast, Slow and Impulse time weightings keep the method explicit.
Microphone sensitivity can shift between surveys or after handling. The removable windscreen exposes the microphone capsule for a documented acoustic-calibrator check before and after measurement.
