Product Introduction

The filter is filled with porous activated-alumina spheres impregnated with a controlled permanganate chemistry. Contaminants diffuse into the pellet and are oxidized to retained reaction products, making the media useful for hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde and certain mercaptans. Perforated stainless retainers keep the granular bed uniform and allow air to cross the full depth. The media is supplied in a sealed refillable cassette so spent pellets can be managed separately from the housing.

Key Features

Purple pellets make the permanganate media visually distinguishable from ordinary black carbon.

Oxidative reaction provides targeted capture for selected sulfur and aldehyde contaminants.

High-porosity alumina supports impregnant distribution throughout each pellet.

Refillable cassettes allow the media to be replaced without discarding the full steel enclosure.

Customer Product Concerns

Some reactive gases have limited capacity on untreated carbon and require an oxidizing adsorbent with adequate contact time.

Formaldehyde passes through a standard particulate and general carbon stage.Permanganate-treated alumina oxidizes the aldehyde inside a porous reactive pellet.
Media identity is confused during multi-stage service. The characteristic purple pellet colour and labelled cassette distinguish this stage from black carbon.
Shallow media trays provide insufficient reaction time.A deep packed bed increases residence time and available oxidizing capacity.
Spent loose media is difficult to remove cleanly from an air handler.A closed refillable cassette contains the pellets during handling and replacement.
