ESD Footwear Tester

The ESD Footwear Tester checks the resistance path through both worn grounding shoes or foot grounders before personnel enter an electrostatic protected area.
  • Split stainless plates support independent evaluation of left and right footwear paths.
  • Hand-height touch electrode and result lamps create a clear entry-point test routine.
  • Freestanding stainless post positions the tester above a stable low-profile base.

Product Introduction

This freestanding station combines two electrically separated stainless foot plates with a hand-operated tester head mounted on a rigid metal post. Each plate provides a defined contact surface for one shoe, allowing the left and right footwear circuits to be evaluated without lifting a foot from a shared electrode. The head presents a broad stainless touch plate and separated high, pass and low indications at a comfortable viewing height. A charcoal base frames the split plates and protects their edges in repeated entry-point use.

Key Features

Electrically separated dual plates support left/right footwear assessment.

Brushed-stainless contact surfaces are durable and straightforward to wipe clean.

Red high, green pass and red low indicators simplify result recognition.

Large hand electrode completes the personnel test path without a mechanical push button.

Rigid stainless post maintains consistent tester-head position.

Low-profile base and adjustable feet support stable placement at an EPA entrance.

Customer Product Concerns

Footwear verification must distinguish the two feet, remain stable under repeated traffic and present an uncomplicated result before access to static-sensitive operations.

A shared plate can conceal a failure on one foot. Two isolated stainless plates allow the tester to evaluate the left and right paths independently.
Operators lose balance when asked to lift one foot during a test. The split platform supports both feet in a natural standing position.
Soil or wear on the electrode creates inconsistent contact.Smooth brushed-stainless plates provide accessible surfaces for scheduled inspection and cleaning.
A test result is hard to see near floor level. The vertical post raises the touch electrode and status lamps to hand and eye level.
Entry hardware shifts during repeated use.A broad low-profile base and adjustable feet distribute the operator load across a stable platform.

Typical Applications

Entrances to electronics production EPAs.Semiconductor and component assembly areas.ESD-protected laboratories and repair centers.Clean manufacturing gowning or transition zones.Daily verification points for heel grounders and ESD shoes.
