Product Introduction

The media combines a thin expanded-polytetrafluoroethylene membrane with a stronger nonwoven or synthetic support. The ePTFE node-and-fibril structure provides fine particle retention at the surface, while the carrier protects the membrane through pleating and pack assembly. The laminate is naturally hydrophobic and resistant to many chemicals, making it attractive for sensitive microelectronics, pharmaceutical and aggressive-air applications. Finished performance is established after the media is pleated and sealed into a complete filter.

Key Features

Surface-loading membrane retains fine particles without exposed glass fibres.

Hydrophobic ePTFE resists moisture penetration during normal service.

The support layer provides tensile strength for pleating and conversion.

Broad chemical resistance suits selected corrosive process environments.

Customer Product Concerns

Ultra-clean processes need high particle retention without glass-fibre shedding or moisture sensitivity.

Glass-fibre fragments are undesirable near sensitive products. An ePTFE surface layer provides particle capture without an exposed microglass face.
Condensation changes the resistance of a hydrophilic medium. The hydrophobic membrane limits wetting by liquid water droplets.
The thin membrane tears during pleating.A bonded support web carries handling loads through conversion and pack assembly.
Aggressive process vapours degrade ordinary fibre binders.PTFE chemistry offers broad resistance to many acids, bases and solvents.
