Product Introduction

The EC fan filter unit uses an electronically commutated brushless motor integrated with a backward-curved impeller. The motor electronics regulate speed efficiently across a broad operating range and can accept local, 0–10 V or network commands. An aluminium plenum reduces installed weight, while the sealed final-filter interface and uniform diffuser maintain the clean-air path. The architecture suits dense FFU ceilings where individual monitoring, coordinated airflow changes and reduced electrical heat are important.

Key Features

Brushless electronic commutation avoids the slip losses associated with a conventional induction motor at reduced speed.

A backward-curved impeller maintains useful efficiency as filter resistance increases through its service interval.

Low-voltage control ports support individual setpoints or coordinated adjustment from a cleanroom control panel.

A compact top controller exposes operating status without opening the filter compartment.

Customer Product Concerns

Large FFU arrays need efficient part-load operation and repeatable control without adding excessive cabling or heat above the ceiling.

Hundreds of independently adjusted units drift to different airflow rates after filter loading.Addressable EC controllers allow setpoints and operating feedback to be managed by zone rather than only at each ceiling bay.
Reducing airflow with an induction-motor voltage controller wastes power and can increase motor temperature.Integrated electronic commutation regulates motor torque efficiently across the usable speed range.
A dense ceiling produces substantial sensible heat that must be removed by the cooling system. The efficient motor and backward-curved wheel reduce electrical input and associated heat rejection at the same operating point.
Technicians cannot identify a stalled unit until local cleanliness or pressure has already changed.Optional network status and alarm contacts expose motor operation to the supervisory control system.
