Product Introduction

The Animal Cage Changing Station is a dedicated mobile workstation for routine mouse and rat cage changes in a vivarium. The illustrated four-foot configuration has one full-width overhead supply HEPA and fan cabinet, one separate exhaust HEPA and blower compartment below the tray, and one prefilter at each air intake. Its work zone is open at the front and rear through two opposed 356 mm access openings, with two hinged clear polycarbonate view screens and two fixed clear end guards around one removable segmented AISI 304 stainless-steel work surface. A compact black control display, one duplex electrical outlet and one LED task light support daily operation. Two motorized lift legs adjust the working surface from approximately 902 mm to 1207 mm, while four lockable casters and two end handles support room-to-room positioning. This product is an animal cage changing station for routine husbandry airflow control; it is not a biological safety cabinet or a generic laminar-flow clean bench.

Key Features

One overhead supply fan and HEPA compartment directs filtered vertical airflow over the tray, while a separate lower exhaust blower and HEPA compartment draws air toward the perimeter capture grilles at both operator openings.

Opposed front and rear openings allow access from either side without adding a solid rear wall, and the hinged transparent screens retain a clear line of sight across the work zone.

The segmented AISI 304 tray lifts out in sections for cleaning, while one accessible supply prefilter and one accessible exhaust prefilter intercept larger bedding and room-air particles ahead of the HEPA packs.

Electric height adjustment, open knee space, four braked casters and end-mounted push handles make the station adaptable to different technicians and vivarium room layouts.

Customer Product Concerns

Routine cage changes must control bedding dust and animal allergens without restricting cage movement, technician posture or clean-down access.

Bedding particles and animal allergens can escape through an open work zone toward the technician.Perimeter intake grilles at the opposed openings direct room and work-zone air into the separate lower prefilter, exhaust HEPA pack and blower compartment.
Unfiltered room air can settle on open cages and increase cage-to-cage particulate transfer during husbandry work. The single overhead fan cabinet supplies HEPA-filtered vertical airflow across the full segmented work surface while the transparent guards preserve the protected work envelope.
A fixed-height station can force shorter or taller technicians into uncomfortable working postures during repetitive cage changes. Two synchronized motorized lift legs provide an approximately 902-1207 mm work-surface height range with open leg space on both sides.
Bedding debris can collect beneath a fixed tray, while a heavy stationary unit is difficult to reposition between animal rooms.Removable tray segments expose the clean-down area, and four braked casters with two end handles provide a controlled route for relocation.
