Product Introduction

This airflow capture hood channels the full outlet flow through a multi-point sensing manifold in its molded base and displays volumetric airflow on a detachable micromanometer. A tensioned fabric hood and interchangeable frame sizes fit common diffusers without restricting the opening. Automatic supply or return recognition, flow conditioning and back-pressure compensation help technicians obtain stable readings from conventional and swirl outlets.

Key Features

Direct volumetric airflow reading avoids multi-point velocity calculations.

Multi-port sensing manifold averages non-uniform diffuser flow.

Automatic supply and return recognition simplifies field setup.

Back-pressure compensation reduces hood-induced measurement bias.

Detachable micromanometer supports pressure and probe measurements.

Lightweight frame and ergonomic base enable one-person balancing.

Customer Product Concerns

Terminal airflow measurement must capture the entire diffuser, average non-uniform flow and limit the measurement resistance introduced by the hood itself.

Swirling or uneven outlet flow can make a single-point reading unrepresentative. The internal flow conditioner and distributed sensing manifold average the full captured stream.
The hood itself can add resistance and alter the true outlet flow.Back-pressure compensation corrects the displayed volume for the measured hood influence.
Large ceiling outlets are difficult to measure safely with one technician.A lightweight collapsible frame and optional support stand reduce overhead handling and ladder use.
Different diffuser sizes can leave gaps at the hood perimeter.Interchangeable frame and fabric-hood sizes provide full coverage of common terminal geometries.
