Product Introduction

The Active Air Microbial Sampler pulls a programmed volume of ambient air through a precision-perforated stainless sampling head. Accelerated air jets direct microorganisms onto the surface of agar held in a standard Petri dish or compatible contact-plate adapter. A closed-loop flow sensor compensates for air-density and plate-loading effects so the indicated volume remains controlled during the sample. Its smooth metal enclosure, rechargeable power and downloadable sample records support routine viable monitoring at multiple cleanroom locations.

Key Features

A multi-orifice impactor distributes the air stream over the culture medium instead of concentrating collection at one point.

Closed-loop flow regulation maintains the selected sample rate as operating resistance changes.

The removable stainless sampling head can be cleaned and sterilized separately from the instrument body.

Programmable volumes and time-stamped records reduce manual transcription during monitoring rounds.

Customer Product Concerns

Representative viable-air results depend on controlled sample volume, recoverable impaction and clean handling of the culture plate and sampling head.

Unstable flow makes colony results difficult to compare between locations or monitoring rounds.Continuous flow measurement and automatic regulation keep the aspirated volume within the configured operating range.
A concentrated air jet can dry or overload a small area of culture medium.A perforated sieve head distributes hundreds of low-volume jets across the agar surface.
Handling the plate near exposed internal components increases contamination risk.A removable head and accessible plate holder allow straightforward aseptic loading and unloading.
Handwritten sample details can be incomplete or associated with the wrong location.Stored date, time, volume, location and status fields provide a traceable record for transfer to the monitoring workflow.
