The silicone gasket is extruded as a translucent hollow or multi-lip profile and joined into a continuous frame-sized loop when required. Silicone rubber remains flexible across a broader temperature range than many general-purpose elastomers and is available in formulations suited to repeated washdown or heated equipment interfaces. Its pale translucent appearance also makes surface contamination and discoloration easier to notice during routine inspection.
