This portable thermal imaging camera converts long-wave infrared radiation from a surface into a radiometric temperature map. An uncooled microbolometer, protected infrared optic and onboard visible-light camera help the operator locate electrical, mechanical, HVAC and enclosure anomalies without contacting the target. The rear color display supports palette selection, spot and area analysis, while adjustable emissivity and reflected-temperature inputs address common surface-measurement variables. Trigger capture stores the thermogram with its measurement data so the original radiometric file can be reviewed and reported after the inspection.

Useful thermography depends on surface emissivity, reflected surroundings, focus, viewing distance, spatial resolution and stable operating load; a thermogram shows a surface-temperature pattern that should be interpreted with inspection context.

Low-emissivity metal can reflect surrounding heat and produce a misleading apparent temperature.Set emissivity and reflected temperature for the surface, use a suitable high-emissivity reference patch where permitted, and compare like surfaces from a controlled angle.
A blurred image or excessive working distance can conceal a small thermal anomaly.Use the specified focus method, observe the minimum focus distance, and move close enough for the target to cover multiple detector pixels while maintaining safe clearance.
Automatic color scaling can make similar temperatures look dramatically different between two images.Lock or manually set level and span when comparing assets, and retain the numerical spot or area readings with the thermogram.
A thermal pattern may indicate a surface anomaly without identifying its underlying cause.Store the radiometric and visible images together, document operating load and conditions, then confirm significant findings with the appropriate electrical, mechanical or airflow test.
