The washable synthetic pre-filter uses a springy bonded polyester or resin-cured synthetic fiber pad held between protective screens in a rigid aluminum frame. The open, three-dimensional fiber matrix captures coarse airborne debris while recovering its thickness after normal washing and drying. Removable retainers allow damaged media to be replaced without discarding the frame.
