The constant air volume controller uses the force acting on an aerodynamic blade to oppose a calibrated spring or bellows mechanism. As duct pressure rises, the blade moves toward the throttling position; as pressure falls, it opens to preserve the selected airflow. The setpoint is adjusted on an external scale without entering the air path. A rectangular flanged casing supports direct duct installation, while low-friction bearings and an accessible mechanism allow stable movement through the working pressure range.

Branch airflow increases whenever the main duct pressure rises.The pressure-responsive blade closes proportionally to absorb the additional pressure and stabilize the set volume.
A regulator selected below its minimum operating pressure never reaches the scheduled airflow.The controller size and setpoint are matched to the available branch pressure over the fan operating range.
An elbow directly at the inlet creates a biased velocity profile and unstable blade motion.A straight approach or suitable flow-straightening section presents the controller with a more even face velocity.
Throttling noise becomes objectionable above a ceiling near quiet work areas.A larger controller, acoustic casing or matched secondary silencer reduces local velocity and regenerated sound.
