The washable aluminum mesh filter packs alternating layers of crimped aluminum screen and expanded metal into an all-aluminum frame. Successive changes in mesh direction create a tortuous air path that brings coarse particles, lint and light oil mist into contact with the large metal surface area. Protective face grids retain the media under elevated face velocity, while drain openings prevent wash water from remaining inside the lower rail. The non-corroding lightweight construction is suited to repeated cleaning where a disposable fiber pad would be consumed quickly.
