The gel seal is a U-shaped channel integrated into the downstream face of a HEPA or ULPA frame. A non-flowing silicone compound fills the channel and surrounds the terminal or holding-frame knife edge when the filter is clamped into place. Unlike a flat foam gasket, the gel conforms around small surface irregularities with limited compression travel. The channel is closed at the corners to keep gel depth continuous across the full perimeter.

A rigid aluminum channel controls gel depth and prevents edge spread.
The seal can accept repeated knife-edge insertion when the gel surface remains clean and intact.
Corner joints are sealed to maintain one continuous perimeter reservoir.
