The Refrigerated Air Dryer is a self-contained compressed-air treatment cabinet installed downstream of a compressor and wet receiver. Incoming warm, moisture-laden air is first precooled by the outgoing dry stream, then cooled further in a refrigerant-to-air heat exchanger so water vapor condenses. An internal separator removes the liquid and an electronic drain discharges it without making the dryer a storage vessel. The outgoing air is reheated in the air-to-air section to reduce external pipe sweating. The selected medium-capacity unit has one service door, one large condenser-air grille, two top compressed-air connections, a compact dew-point controller and four fixed feet. It contains a hermetic refrigerant compressor and heat exchangers, but no air-compression element, desiccant towers, filter cartridges, air receiver or comfort-air-conditioning ductwork.

Its representative cabinet envelope is approximately 898 mm wide by 735 mm deep by 1002 mm high, with two 2-inch female compressed-air connections and a 13 bar maximum working-pressure class. Actual flow capacity, pressure drop, electrical supply, refrigerant, inlet-temperature allowance and drain arrangement depend on the selected model and site conditions.
