Choosing Panels for Walls, Ceilings and Cold Rooms

Use the panel application, core and joint details to choose an enclosure that fits the room and its connections.

Start with the surface being built

A panel name alone does not decide whether it belongs in a wall or ceiling. Check the application on the product page, then compare the construction and values for that individual panel. The wall-panel collection includes wall-only, ceiling-use and cold-room products.

Match the core to the room requirement

Begin with insulation, fire requirements and the intended supports. Machine-Made Rock Wool Sandwich Panel is listed for walls. Machine-Made Glass-Magnesium Sandwich Panel has its own wall-and-ceiling construction. Machine-Made Polyurethane Cold Room Panel is intended for refrigerated walls and ceilings. Similar metal faces do not make these panels interchangeable.

Plan the joints and openings

Machine-made panels with interlocking profiles connect differently from handmade perimeter-frame modules. Match the profiles to the selected panel, and plan how door frames, corners and service penetrations close exposed edges. Facing and coating choices should suit the cleaning exposure.

Decide the complete assembly

Use the known panel width, thickness and length to plan the layout. For a ceiling, include spans, support positions, service openings and required loads in the comparison. This makes the panel choice useful at installation rather than leaving the connections to be resolved after delivery.

Compare the wall-panel collection and ceiling systems for the listed product applications.
