Laboratory Fume Hood draws chemical fumes and vapours away from the operator into an exhaust system. The enclosure and front sash keep reagent preparation and wet-chemistry work within a defined extraction area, limiting the spread of emissions into the laboratory.
Steel and polypropylene versions provide different construction choices for the chemicals in use. A benchtop hood fits a suitable existing support, while a complete unit includes the base cabinet for a new workstation.

The maximum sash opening provides loading access; use the operating sash position established during exhaust-system commissioning.
MODEL DIFFERENCES
The narrowest format fits a compact experiment or preparation station where bench space is limited.
The middle width gives more room to separate apparatus from reagent handling without using the largest footprint.
The widest version accommodates a broader apparatus layout; maintain clear rear extraction slots around the equipment.
Both use 850 mm depth. The 1500 mm-high benchtop format requires a supporting bench; the 2350 mm-high complete format includes its base.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The slotted, three-section baffle guides air towards the rear exhaust path; keeping the slots clear helps air move around the apparatus.
The counterbalanced sash moves vertically and holds its selected position, giving access for setup and a front barrier during work.
The solid laminate worktop resists compatible reagents and routine impact, providing a practical surface for preparation and analysis.
Front electrical controls and optional in-hood water fittings keep equipment connections and water access near the work area.
APPLICATIONS
Extract vapours during reagent preparation and chemical analysis with materials selected for the substances used.
Contain emissions around sample preparation and wet-chemistry tests requiring local exhaust.
Provide an extracted work area for preparing environmental samples with volatile or corrosive reagents.
Support chemical testing of process water and other plant samples that release vapours during preparation.
Extract fumes generated by reagent handling and water-quality analysis at treatment facilities.
Provide local extraction for teaching experiments and research procedures selected for the hood's chemical compatibility.
Support chemical reagent preparation and analytical work requiring fume extraction.
SELECTION GUIDANCE
Choose materials against the actual chemicals, concentrations and temperatures; PP is useful for corrosive work, while the complete lining, glazing and worktop must suit the procedure.
Coordinate the hood with suitable ductwork, extraction fan, discharge treatment and room make-up air; check containment and airflow at the installed operating sash position.
Use the benchtop format with a suitable supporting bench, or choose the complete cabinet format for a new laboratory workstation.
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
A chemical fume hood captures chemical emissions through extraction. A clean bench protects the work from airborne particles, and a biosafety cabinet is selected for biological containment; they are not interchangeable.
